When you compare aluminum darts to cane and wood it works out this way: The aluminum darts are good for distance, not so good for accuracy and poor for penetration and are durable and always straight....

You can use app. diameters 3/8" distal to 1/2" proximal. That's what I use with cane, at various lengths and it has worked great for me. Use that as an approximation and you should have some decent...
